Local chapters nationwide offer information, materials, support programs and limited financial assistance for patients with leukemia. This website also offers research information on cord blood transplants.

 

National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP)

The NMDP’s “Center for Cord Blood” brings together expertise, experience and support needed to provide life-saving cord blood units for patients and focuses on five key areas of critical concern: Access, Assurance, Expertise, Support and Science. This is an important state-of-the-art online resource for transplant candidate families and caregivers. NMDP has also been designated by the federal government (HRSA) as the nation’s Cord Blood Coordinating Center for the newly-formed National Cord Blood Banking Program network (CORD:USE is an NMDP member bank and its president, Dr. Guindi, is a member of the NMDP’s Cord Blood Committee).
